Jennifer Lawrence Talks Potential Return to X-Men Franchise

Last year, Jennifer Lawrence put it bluntly when she was asked if she would be back as Mystique for more X-Men movies following this year’s X-Men: Apocalypse, simply saying it was her last one. She later changed her tune saying she’d like to return, and the actress is now doubling down on a comeback as Mystique.

“I would love to come back,” Lawrence tells EW. “I love the fans and I love the character. But then you realize how important your year is, like how important three months out of your year is. I don’t know. I shouldn’t be that honest.”

There is a caveat though, as Lawrence says it’s an all-or-nothing deal between her and her co-stars about coming back.

“Fassbender and McAvoy and I were all talking like, ‘Will you come back?’ ‘I dunno.’ ‘I’ll come back if you come back.’ Fox should be terrified because the deal we made was like if one of us doesn’t come back, none of us are.”

The next X-Men film is set to take place in the 1990s, following the trend of the previous three films, but no official word has come about who will be the villain or what cast members will be present.
