Captain America: Civil War and Jungle Book Nearing $800 Million

Captain America: Civil War earned $8.1 million domestically and $14.2 million internationally on Thursday for a global total of $22.3 million for the day. The Anthony and Joe Russo-directed movie has reached $223.3 million in North America and $564.9 million overseas for a worldwide total of $788.2 million. It will cross the $800 million mark at the global box office today.

The Marvel release received an A CinemaScore from audiences and cost $250 million to make before marketing expenses.

Disney’s other major hit, The Jungle Book, surpassed $500 million internationally yesterday and today is expected to join Zootopia and Captain America: Civil War as the third Disney release of 2016 to cross the $800 million mark globally. The Jungle Book will reach the $300 million threshold domestically this weekend. The Jungle Book has earned $294 million domestically and $501 million internationally for a worldwide total of $795 million.
