Kellan Lutz (“The Twilight Saga,” upcoming A Nightmare on Elm Street) is joining Henry Cavill, Freida Pinto and Mickey Rourke in director Tarsem Singh’s War of the Gods at Relativity Media.
The story follows young warrior Theseus who leads his men into battle with the immortal Greek gods to defeat evil elder gods of the Titans in order to save mankind.
Lutz will play Poseidon, lord of the sea.
Jason Keller rewrote the original script by Christian Gudegast.
War of the Gods is produced by 300 producers Gianni Nunnari and Mark Canton, as well as Kavanaugh. Tucker Tooley and Craig Flores are executive producing.
Filming is set to start in April. Universal Pictures will distribute.
