Star Wars: The Force Awakens passed $600 million domestically in record time
Star Wars: The Force Awakens added yet another $29.5 million domestically and $37.7 million overseas on Tuesday for a total of $67.2 million for the day. The Lucasfilm release has now earned $600.9 million in North America and $627.4 million internationally for a worldwide total of $1.228 billion.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens reached $600 million domestically faster than any other movie in industry history, crossing it on the 12th day of release, beating the previous record of 36 days set by Jurassic World earlier this year. Domestically, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is already the #2 movie of 2015 to date and the #5 movie of all-time. Internationally, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is already the #6 movie of 2015 to date. Globally, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the #4 movie of 2015 to date and has now become the #9 movie of all-time (passing Iron Man 3 ($1,215 million).
