“Females are strong as hell.” There’s a sentence I don’t think any of us going into Mad Max: Fury Road thought we’d be coming out thinking. Led by Charlize Theron‘s Imperator Furiosa, the film is a showcase for powerful women taking control of their own destinies from an oppressive patriarchy, and Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy) just so happens to be tagging along for the ride. I could just use this as a venue to talk about how great Mad Max: Fury Road is, but I have other things for you.
That quote at the beginning of this article comes from the theme song to the delightful television program “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt“. In my review of season one, I never got around to talking about the theme song for the show. Parodying the number of auto-tuned and remixed songs taken from news reports, the song is catchy and joyous, fitting right in line with the show.
Luckily, YouTube has come to the rescue and married these two things together. It’s stupid and silly, but isn’t that what the majority of YouTube is for? You can watch the video below. And if you haven’t watched Mad Max: Fury Road or “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” yet, just go do it!
