HBO Films has released a poster and brief trailer for their upcoming single-character drama Nightingale, starring David Oyelowo (Selma) as a war veteran whose disturbed mind begins to unravel thread by thread. Directed by Elliott Lester from a screenplay by Frederick Mensch, the film is described as a “searing story of solitude and isolation offers a poignant look at how life has failed one man.”
Now set for a Friday, May 29, premiere I would think anyone with HBO is setting their DVRs now so as not to miss this one, coming from a script that began on the Blacklist finds its way to HBO rather than the studio system, where these higher profile scripts usually end up.
