Screen Daily delivers the above first look at John Michael McDonagh‘s upcoming movie War on Everyone starring Michael Pena and Alexander Skarsgard (replacing Garrett Hedlund) as two corrupt cops in New Mexico who set out to blackmail and frame every criminal unfortunate enough to cross their path. Things take a sinister turn, however, when they try to intimidate an outlaw who is more dangerous than they are. In addition to the photo we also learn filming is underway in New Mexico and the complete cast has been revealed.
Joining Pena and Skarsgard are Theo James (Insurgent), Tessa Thompson (Dear White People), Caleb Landry Jones (Antiviral), Paul Reiser (Whiplash), Stephanie Sigman (Miss Bala, Spectre) and David Wilmot (Calvary).
Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions and Icon are among the distributors internationally, though no word on a domestic date. Personally I expect this to be another Sony Classics pick-up and I expect we’ll see it in the first half of 2016 with a likely Sundance premiere.
