UPDATE: Guilermo del Toro is Not Directing an Episode of “Hannibal” Season 3

Fashion & Style posted a story that quoted a De Laurentiis Company newsletter reporting Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth), Guillermo Navarro and Michael Rymer would be directing the final three episodes of the upcoming third season of NBC’s “Hannibal“, all three shot back-to-back. The part about del Toro directing is untrue as has been clarified on the De Laurentiis Company Facebook page in which they write, “The inaccurate information was the result of a miscommunication in the process of editing our April newsletter.” How this “mistake” could have been made is beyond me.

Navarro and Rymer, veteran “Hannibal” helmers, will in fact be back to direct with Navarra directing Episodes 11 and 12 and Rymer directing the season finale.

The newsletter teased an upcoming “binge event” leading to the “Hannibal” season three premiere on June 4 as well as added, “It may be hard to top last season’s finale, but we can promise you a conclusion you won’t soon forget!”
