‘Suicide Squad’ Set Between ‘Man of Steel’ and ‘Batman v Superman’, Killer Croc Cast

The DC Comics cinematic “multiverse” is just getting underway and there’s no telling if they’ll manage to be as successful as Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, but they sure are throwing everything at the wall right away and hoping it sticks.

Things began with Man of Steel in 2013, introducing us to Henry Cavill‘s Superman, and Batman will return in 2016 played by Ben Affleck in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which will also include Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Ezra Miller is rumored to be playing The Flash. After that we’re getting David Ayer‘s Suicide Squad and we learn today that already stacked cast of rogue villains is getting one more character as Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has been cast as Killer Croc (via The Wrap).

Akinnuoye-Agbaje joins a cast that already includes Jared Leto as The Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Cara Delevinge as Enchantress and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg in the story of an antihero team of incarcerated supervillains acting as deniable assets for the United States government, undertaking high-risk black ops missions in exchange for commuted prison sentences.

As for this Killer Croc, character, here are some details via Batman.Wikia:

Waylon Jones is a former crocodile wrestler turned into a criminal deformed by a birth defect. He has low intelligence but great strength, as well as crocodilian abilities, such as a keen sense of smell and the ability to hold his breath underwater for long periods of time.

Oh, and Scott Eastwood (The Longest Ride) and boxer Raymond Olubowale have also joined the cast, though neither of their characters have yet been revealed.

Now, a new scoop to this unfolding story comes from Latino-Review.com’s Umberto Gonzalez reporting the events of Suicide Squad will actually take place in-between Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, despite the fact it’s being released August 5, 2016, five months after Batman v Superman, which only makes you wonder how the events of this film will have already shaped what takes place in Batman v Superman. I only mention this because Eisenberg is rumored to be showing up in Suicide Squad as Lex Luthor. I don’t know, sounds odd to me… you?
