Two-Part ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Directing Duties Fall to Russo Brothers

It has been rumored for a long time, but today it was confirmed that Joe and Anthony Russo will direct Avengers: Infinity War – Part I and Part II for Disney and Marvel. The Russos last directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and are set to begin production on the sequel, Captain America: Civil War in the next couple weeks while also shepherding a new Ghostbusters project at Sony with Channing Tatum.

Joss Whedon directed The Avengers as well as its sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron, due in theaters on May 1, but recently described the “nightmare” of directing this most recent installment, citing the difficulty in bringing to life a world featuring such “disparate characters”. The Russos definitely have their work cut out for them.

As of now, Infinity War – Part I is set for a May 4, 2018 release and Part II is set for a May 3, 2019 release. You have those dates circled on your calendar yet? [BAD]
