I have to assume if you watched the first season of HBO‘s “True Detective” you’re in line and anxiously awaiting season two and perhaps some new plot details will increase your interest.
First we’ll go to a report from Movie Pilot where it takes early hints at the season’s plot from creator Nic Pizzolatto and him saying the plot will revolve around “the secret occult history of the United States transportation system”. For those not wanting any spoilers, perhaps look away as the site reports:
Vaughn’s character is a business man allegedly attempting to go straight, though he becomes the main suspect in his associate’s death. Meanwhile, Rachel McAdams will play a local sheriff who has a “different set of ethics that puts her at odds against Farrell, who is described as a detective that has deep ties to the mobsters that are corrupting the police force”. But about those Satanic symbols…
The first season suggested their might be something supernatural to the storyline only that didn’t end up being the case and perhaps this second season will dip its toes into the same waters. The Movie Pilot report questions whether these symbols may have to do with the “California satanic sex magik cult that involved the founder of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Jack Parsons, and included Aleister Crowley, L. Ron Hubbard and other influential figures getting into all sorts of kinky satanic hijinks while trying to summon the anti-Christ.”
Before you go shaking your head, thinking that’s a little too far out there, note the casting report from The Hollywood Reporter in which adult film stars, Amia Miley and Peta Jensen, have joined the cast for what the trade refers to as “a deliriously vast, Eyes Wide Shut-caliber orgy sequence involving dozens of naked bodies.” The sequence was reportedly shot over the past few days in a Pasadena mansion with Farrell and McAdams present for filming. Miley, it turns out, was recently featured in that R-rated Power Rangers short film.
No word yet on when exactly the second season of “True Detective” will air, but I feel confident in saying your interest may now be piqued?
