It’s an Election reunion as Reese Witherspoon will star alongside Matt Damon in Alexander Payne‘s social satire Downsizing. The film finds Damon and Witherspoon playing man and wife who decide their lives have gotten out of hand, and would be better should they have themselves shrunk down. Unfortunately for the man, his wife backs out at the last minute.
Witherspoon is having a great year with Wild, which is likely to earn her an Oscar nomination, a small role in Inherent Vice and serving as producer on Gone Girl. As for Damon, he’s going to next star in the fifth Jason Bourne film for Paul Greengrass (which recently moved back a couple weeks to July 29, 2016) before beginning work here.
20th Century Fox will release Downsizing, most likely targeting a 2016 release.
