‘Resident Evil 6’ Delayed, Warburton Back for ‘Ted 2’ and Stewart Took ‘Rosewater’ to Abrams and Howard

Resident Evil 6 has been postponed due to the fact star Milla Jovovich is pregnant. Jovovich, who’s married to Resident Evil director Paul W.S. Anderson, revealed the news on her Facebook page while also confirming the film’s title will be Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Filming is expected to take place next year on what will likely be the last film in the franchise. [Facebook]

Patrick Warburton is returning for Seth MacFarlane‘s Ted 2 reprising his role as Guy, the co-worker of John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg). Mila Kunis is also expected to be back along with Amanda Seyfried signing on to star. The film is set to hit theaters on June 26, 2015. [Deadline]

Kung Fu Panda director John Stevenson is set to direct a CG-animated feature inspired by the Biblical story for Unified Pictures. The press release says the film will tell the story from the point of view of the animals, following an outcast aardvark by the name of Gilbert, who becomes the reluctant leader of a ragtag group of misfit animals that need to be led to the mighty ark before the impending flood. Along their journey, they band together to conquer unforeseen obstacles, and ultimately, Gilbert discovers within himself the inner strength and ingenuity to prove that in a world of “twos,” he was truly destined to be “the one.”

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jon Stewart reveals he asked J.J. Abrams, Ron Howard and others for their opinion of his screenplay for Rosewater:

Yes, I did. They were both awfully gracious. Basically, I would ask anybody who came on the show who is in the business, “While you’re sitting here, would you mind…” [Laughs] I was that dick in a coffee shop with a script.

Rosewater will play the Toronto Film Festival before hitting theaters on November 7. [EW]
