‘The Inhumans’ Rumored as Future Marvel Film

Pretty soon we’re all going to be Marvel comics gurus with those that read the comics lording their extended knowledge over the general population of movie-only Marvel fans, or we’re going to begin to run from the upcoming rash of comic-based movies at some point. However, that theoretical “some point” clearly isn’t coming any time soon as Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is killing it at the box office and with Avengers: Age of Ultron next in line it’s only going to get bigger.

Marvel currently has Thor 3 and Avengers 3, which leaves the door open for five unknown features, one of which, we learn today, may be based on the Marvel property “The Inhumans“.

Collider reports Joe Robert Cole has turned in a screenplay for The Inhumans that was to Marvel’s liking and they are now searching for directors. It’s expected once someone signs on that someone will put their own stamp onto the screenplay in the same way James Gunn did with Guardians as he is now co-writing Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and just as Joss Whedon did with The Avengers before him.

As for who these “Inhumans” are, apparently

At the beginning of the Kree-Skrull War, millions of years ago in Earth time, the alien Kree established a station on the planet Uranus, a strategic position between the Kree and Skrull empires. Through their work at this station, they discovered that sentient life on nearby Earth had genetic potential invested in it by the alien Celestials. Intrigued, the Kree began to experiment on Earth’s then-primitive homo sapiens by splicing Eternals DNA into Cro-Magnons.

From this experimenting came the Inhumans who have a rotating list of members who’ve been known to join forces with other Marvel heroic groups such as Fantastic Four, Avengers and the X-Men.

Adding fuel to the fire was a recent Facebook post from Vin Diesel who played Groot in Guardians in which he wrote, “I get the strange feeling that Marvel thinks I’m Inhuman… Haha.” Oh Vin, you sly devil.
