![]() Chris Pratt in Guardians of the Galaxy Photo: Marvel / Disney At the end of Guardians of the Galaxy one big question remained: Who was Peter Quill’s father? For non-comic readers, completely unfamiliar with the source material, the obvious guess in my eyes was Thanos. I mean, we are talking about a film hewing as close to Star Wars as possible without actually being Star Wars… right? Well, then you look up Peter Quill on the ol’ Wikipedia only to see it’s some Emperor Jason character, or J’son of Spartax, the Emperor of the Spartoi Empire, whatever that may be. So, I guess that’s that… right? Wrong… Consider this new comment from Guardians writer/director James Gunn from an interview at Empire:
Well then… Thanos is back on the big board, but it seems the more likely possibility is Starfox, aka Eros of Titan, aka Thanos’ brother. But then again, I’m just throwing out names and really have no idea who any of these characters are other than what I come across on Wikipedia. If it was going to be Thanos it doesn’t sound like it will be revealed any time soon as Josh Brolin, who plays the big ugly mug, recently told IGN he’s not too sure when his services will be required again outside of one instance, “I know what one appearance is going to be for sure. There’s one or two that I don’t know.” I guess we’ll just have to wait until Guardians of the Galaxy 2 in July 2017 or perhaps a little earlier such as Thor 3, most likely in 2016. So what do you think? Any theories? Come on all you comic book readers, you must have some idea after seeing the movie? How many of you think it’s Yondu? Speak up below. Show Comments |
