Daisy Ridley Expected to be the Female Lead in Next Two ‘Star Wars’ Films

There’s no word on just what character Daisy Ridley plays in J.J. AbramsStar Wars: Episode VII, but the fact she’s the female lead in the film has been pretty much guaranteed form the start and now Deadline adds “the plan is for her carry through to the second and third films” for director Rian Johnson (Looper).

In addition to this news, Disney CEO Bob Iger recently told CNBC he’s seen some of the early footage from the film saying:

I can only tell you that production is underway. We have a very brief hiatus, which is due in part to the fact that Harrison Ford broke his ankle. The footage we’ve seen is very, very exciting to us. I think there’s about 500 days left between now and December 18th, 2015 when the movie comes out. That doesn’t seem like very long. There’s a lot of pent up demand. We’re just as excited as the fans are about it.

And if you’re looking for some story spoilers you can find a few here, but I didn’t explore too deeply to know how interesting they may or may not be.
