‘Ghostbusters 3’ Goes All Female, Bill Murray is Baloo and ‘Alice in Wonderland 2’ Complete Cast Revealed

The newest story surrounding Ghostbusters 3 is an interesting one as it has Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat) directing, but not the current script, but intead a completely new one from scratch, this one focusing on a female group of ghostbusters. There is no deal yet, but Feig is said to be interested and even tweeted recently, “Interesting how making a movie with men in the lead roles is normal but making a movie with women in the lead roles is a ‘gimmick.'” Far from a commitment, but definitely showing a sign of interest.

Considering Feig is again working with Melissa McCarthy on Spy, I think it goes without saying she’d be a top choice for the film should it come to pass and a few other great possibilities could include Rose Byrne, Emily Blunt and I’d love to see “SNL”‘s Kate McKinnon get a movie role such as this. Who would be your picks? [THR]

Filming on Disney’s Alice In Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass, the sequel to Tim Burton‘s Alice in Wonderland begins principal photography this week, which is said to revisit Lewis Carroll’s beloved stories with an all-new new tale that travels back to Underland — and back in Time. The massive ensemble cast includes Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, Mia Wasikowska as Alice Kingsleigh, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, Rhys Ifans as the Mad Hatter’s father, Zanik Hightopp, Matt Lucas as Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Ed Speleers (Eragon) as James Harcourt, Sacha Baron Cohen as Time, Stephen Fry as the voice of the Cheshire Cat, Toby Jones as the voice of Wilkins, Alan Rickman as the voice of the Blue Caterpillar, Michael Sheen as the voice of the White Rabbit, Timothy Spall as the voice of Bayard, Paul Whitehouse as the March Hare and Barbara Windsor as the voice of Dormouse. Got all that?

Believe it or not, Connelly was first attached to the project ten years ago with her husband Paul Bettany. The film follows Seymour “Swede” Levov (McGregor), a legendary high school athlete, who grows up to marry a former beauty queen and inherits his father’s business. Swede’s seemingly perfect life shatters when his daughter rebels by becoming a revolutionary and commits a deadly act of political terrorism during the Vietnam War. Filming begins March 2015.

Finally, Bill Murray has joined the cast of Disney’s The Jungle Book as the voice of Baloo for director Jon Favreau. Murray joins a voice cast that includes Christopher Walken as King Louie, Giancarlo Esposito as Akela, Ben Kingsley and Lupita Nyong’o as Bagheera and Raksha, Idris Elba as Shere Khan, Scarlett Johansson as Kaa and newcomer Neel Sethi as Mowgli.
