Robert Zemeckis is setting out to make a narrative feature based on the story of French high-wire artist Philippe Petit, the subject of James Marsh‘s highly acclaimed documentary Man on Wire. The film is titled The Walk (previously To Reach the Clouds) and tells Petit’s attempt to cross the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in 1974.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt will take on the lead role and the above photo of him in costume on set with co-star Charlotte Le Bon was just uploaded to Facebook. Ben Kingsley and James Badge Dale co-star in the film, which TriStar is set to release on OCtober 2, 2015.
