While we’ve know George Clooney would likely take a role in Joel and Ethan Coen‘s Hail Caesar!, which centers on Eddie Mannix, a “fixer” in Hollywood, circa 1950s, working for the studios to protect the stars of the day. There is no word on whom exactly Brolin and Clooney will play, though I would expect one will play Mannix while the other will play a character (most likely a Hollywood exec or celebrity) who’s found himself in a situation that needs “fixing”.
The Coens wrote the screenplay and Universal will distribute the picture, most likely late 2016 as I expect the project will get underway soon. Both Brolin and Clooney are Coen veterans and I’d go as far as saying Brolin thanks his career turnaround to the brothers following 2007’s No Country for Old Men. [Deadline]
