It appears the early rumors were true as the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII has added two females, the first of which is Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) and the second is one “Game of Thrones” fans will recognize as Brienne of Tarth, Gwendoline Christie. Their roles in the film have not been announced, naturally.
The two join a massive ensemble cast that includes John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow and original trilogy cast members including Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker. The film is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2015 and is being directed by J.J. Abrams.
Also, if you’re interested in what the film will look like, TMZ has posted 45 pictures from the set. Enjoy!
