5 Character Posters for ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’

Yesterday, The Weinstein Co. and Entertainment Weekly tried to pass off the new “EW” cover as having something to do with Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. A bit shameful in my opinion given the film glorifies sex and violence enough to the point featuring Alba in a bikini that has nothing to do with the movie and in the standard, ass-first female pose makes little to no sense. Especially considering the film will clearly offer more than enough alternate visuals that could have been used as evidenced by the five character posters that were just released.

The new posters feature Mickey Rourke as Marv, Rosario Dawson as Gail, Jessica Alba as Nancy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Johnny and Josh Brolin as Dwight, here’s the plot:

It’s one of those hot nights, dry and windless. The kind that makes people do sweaty, secret things. Dwight’s (Josh Brolin) thinking of all the ways he’s screwed up and what he’d give for one clear chance to wipe the slate clean, to dig his way out of the numb gray hell that is his life. And he’d give anything. Just to cut loose. Just to feel the fire. One more time. And then Ava calls.

The film hits theater on August 22.
