Trailer for Roger Ebert Documentary ‘Life Itself’

Directed by Steve James (Hoop Dreams) with the support of executive producers Martin Scorsese and Steven Zaillian, Life Itself is a documentary recounting the life of Roger Ebert described as a…

…story that is by turns personal, funny, painful, and transcendent. Based on his bestselling memoir of the same name, Life Itself explores the legacy of Roger Ebert’s life, from his Pulitzer Prize-winning film criticism at the Chicago Sun-Times to becoming one of the most influential cultural voices in America.

Today the trailer for the film, which will release on iTunes/OnDemand and in theaters on July 4, was released, giving strong hints at how this documentary will be presented, though I do have a feeling it will also get into some of Ebert’s darkest hours as he was never one too shy to admit his own personal faults.

I’m really looking forward to it.
