Fox has released a brand new Dawn of the Planet of the Apes featurette, this one focusing on the performances capture in the film, which includes side-by-side comparisons of Andy Serkis as Caesar, Toby Kebbell as Koba, Larramie Doc Shaw as Ash, Terry Notary as Rocket and Karin Konoval as Maurice. Nope, no Judy Greer, oh well…
I wonder, will there be the same push this year as there was when Rise of the Planet of the Apes was released to get Serkis a Supporting Actor nomination? Serkis is proving to be the go-to guy for performances capture as he also helped Gareth Edwards with Godzilla and he’s helping Mark Ruffalo with the Hulk in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes hits theaters on July 11.

Set 15 years after the events of 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will focus on a growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar (Andy Serkis), threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
