MTV has premiered the first clip from Guardians of the Galaxy (Disney; 8/1) in advance of this weekend’s 2014 MTV Movie Awards and it features Chris Pratt as Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord) and Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer in what seems to most likely be the two characters’ introductions in the film.

Additionally, the following behind the scenes picture featuring Zoe Saldana as Gamora and Karen Gillan as Nebula was uploaded to Instagram by Guardians director James Gunn. Gillan, by the way, co-stars in this weekend’s horror feature Oculus.
