Paramount is apparently pushing aside the lesser known names they had voicing the lead characters in their upcoming live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (8/8) movies for more recognizable names, first on the list being Johnny Knoxville voicing the turtle known as Leonardo and the second being Tony Shalhoub, voicing the turtles’ man-sized rat sensei Splinter.
Knoxville replaces Pete Ploszek (“Parks & Recreation”) and Shalhoub replaces Danny Woodburn, as the two served as the voices for the characters on set, which is to say it’s likely Jeremy Howard, Alan Ritchson and Noel Fisher can expect to see replacements as the voices of Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo soon enough.
