Your Box Office Predictions for ‘Divergent’, ‘Muppets 2’, ‘Grand Budapest Hotel’ and ‘300’

Your weekend box office predictions have been tallied and with Summit expecting somewhere in the range of $50-60 million for Divergent it seems the readers have chosen to go right down the middle, more than $2.5 million more than Laremy’s prediction with an aggregate of $55.8 million.

Predictions are a little closer in second place with the readership going $300,000 under Laremy’s $25.5 million prediction on Muppets Most Wanted. The Muppets sequel ended with a 76% rating on RottenTomatoes, a full 20% lower than the first film.

$400,000 separates the readers and Laremy on 300: Rise of an Empire, which, by the way, did you hear a Houston man hit and killed another man in Houston after an argument over the film’s ending? Apparently the guy got away and has not yet been caught.

Finally, Wes Anderson‘s The Grand Budapest Hotel expands to 304 theaters this weekend and the readers are expecting a full $1 million more than Laremy’s prediction and a $17,105 per theater average.

I’ve included Laremy’s predictions and the average reader predictions directly below and I’ll be back on Sunday with box office estimates. To see Laremy’s full list of predictions and all 90 reader predictions for this weekend click here.
