“Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan is returning to CBS with a new television series, this one called “Battle Creek“, described as a contemporary detective drama, and Bryan Singer (X-Men: Days of Future Past) will reportedly helm the series’ pilot episode.
Set in Battle Creek, Michigan, the series pairs Russ Agnew (Dean Winters, “Rescue Me” and those All State commercials) and FBI agent Milton Chamberlain, who have different worldviews but are teamed up to clean up the semi-mean streets
David Shore will serve as showrunner, which means this is a reteaming after Shore and Singer worked together launching “House” for Fox.
Gilligan first pitched the idea back in 2002, but it would seem with the success of “Breaking Bad” people are taking him a little more seriously now. Go figure. [Deadline]
