‘Pompeii’, ‘Only Lovers Left Alive’, ‘Jack Ryan’ and More in Today’s MPAA Ratings
By
Brad Brevet
Today’s round of MPAA ratings includes the upcoming return of Tom Clancy’s iconic character in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit starring Chris Pine, which was actually supposed to be out for Christmas until Martin Scorsese‘s The Wolf of Wall Street was delayed as well as Paul W.S. Anderson‘s silly looking historical whatever-you-want-to-call-it Pompeii.
A couple of notable titles include Jodorowsky’s Dune, which I missed at both Cannes and Toronto this year, along with Jim Jarmusch‘s Only Lovers Left Alive starring Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston, which I most certainly did not miss and really enjoyed… read my review as evidence.
There’s also The Lunchbox, which is apparently very good and will be released some time in 2014 from Sony Pictures Classics and Roger Michell‘s Le Week-End, which didn’t really wow festival audiences but does feature a cast that includes Jim Broadbent and Jeff Goldblum so I don’t expect it’s half-bad.
One final note, this will be the last bulletin until January 8, 2014. There will be no ratings update on January 3 next week.
The complete bulletin is listed below.
