Last week we learned Fox was already preparing to move forward on X-Men: Apocalypse, the sequel to next year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past as May 27, 2016 release date was established. Now it has been confirmed Bryan Singer will also be returning to direct the project, but don’t expect the long list of veteran X-Men players to also return as they are for Days of Future Past.
Word is Apocalypse will be a direct sequel that will focus entirely on the James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, etc. cast that originated in X-Men: First Class. Could this mean it will be the first X-Men film to not feature Hugh Jackman for even a single frame? Say it ain’t so!
Meanwhile, FirstShowing.net has posted a story that spoils Days of Future Past and how it ties into Apocalypse in case you’d like to just skip both films altogether. Might not be a bad option?
