New ‘Oldboy’ Remake Pictures and First Clip from the Film

FilmDistrict has released three new pictures from Spike Lee‘s Oldboy remake along with a first clip from the film featuring stars Josh Brolin and Elizabeth Olsen and with each new look at this film, it continues its sinister vibe. The big question is whether or not the Hollywood system will allow Lee, working from a script by Mark Protosevich, to take the story as far as it must go. Considering FilmDistrict isn’t one of the Hollywood majors I fully expect it to take things to the limit, but we’ll have to just wait and see.

[amz asin=”1593075685″ size=”small”]The story is based on Garon Tsuchiya‘s manga follows an advertising executive (Brolin) who is kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement without any indication of his captor’s motive. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment. His quest for revenge leads him into an ill-fated relationship with a young social worker (Olsen) and ultimately to an illusive man (Sharlto Copley) who allegedly holds the key to his salvation.

The film hits theaters on November 27, check out the clip and two additional pictures directly below.
