Without getting too sexually explicit this batch of 14 character posters from Lars von Trier‘s Nymphomaniac may be about as close as you can get without getting the NSFW (not safe for work) tag from most websites, but that may be stretching it.
This latest round of advertising introduces you to all the characters in the film that touch the life of the central figure, Joe, played by Charlotte Gainsbourg, a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac recounting her erotic journey from birth to the age of 50. On a cold winter’s evening the old, charming bachelor, Seligman (Stellan Skarsgard), finds Joe beaten up in an alley. He brings her home to his flat where he cares for her wounds while asking her about her life. He listens intently as Joe over the next 8 chapters recounts the lushly branched-out and multi faceted story of her life, rich in associations and interjecting incidents.
Those that fit into the story are featured below and they include Stacy Martin as young Joe, Shia LaBeouf as Jerome, Jamie Bell as K, Mia Goth as P, Jens Albinus as S, Nicolas Bro as F, Willem Dafoe as F, Uma Thurman as Mrs. H, Udo Kier as the Waiter, Sophie Kennedy Clark as B, Connie Nielsen as Joe’s mother and Christian Slater as Joe’s father.
As of now, expectation is the film will hit theaters in Denmark this Christmas with the supposed five-hour, explicit cut expected to play Cannes next year. We’ll see.
