‘Star Wars: Episode 7’ Plot Rumors Continue as Saoirse Ronan Reveals Audition Details

This is surely going to result in a phone call to Saoirse Ronan‘s agent as she was Star Wars: Episode VII and has now admitted as much as well as given some details on her audition that suggest the role of her potential character in the film.

Speaking with Empire Ronan cautions she’s one of many that have gone in for the same role saying, “Yeah, I did [audition]… I mean, everyone did. Everyone has auditioned for it. So many people I know have gone in for the part I’ve gone in for, and guys who’ve gone in for a particular part, so I’d imagine J.J. is probably just scanning the earth to find the people that he needs.”

She got a little loose-lipped after that adding, “But nobody has a clue what it’s about, and nobody’s read the script. So I’ve gone in and read for it, but I have to say, I think it’s the only time I’ve ever thought, ‘You know what? Even if I don’t get it, I had so much fun auditioning, pretending to take out a lightsaber — out of a bag, kind of inspect it and not know what it is.’ That was… that was great. A lightsaber! Star Wars!”

Obviously the key here is the fact she held a lightsaber, an act suggesting her character may in fact be a Jedi, but what kind? When Ronan was first rumored the idea was floated that there may be a female villain. Again, it’s all speculation for now, but as details slowly trickle in pieces of the puzzle can be put together.

As far as I remember, Rachel Hurd-Wood (Peter Pan) is the only other female actor we’ve heard has auditioned for a part, but as Ronan suggests, many have gone in.

Episode VII is expected to hit theaters in 2015 with a script from Michael Arndt (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Toy Story 3) and this new trilogy will apparently begin thirty years after Return of the Jedi.
