Several New Pictures from ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’

It was announced today that following the November 11 world premiere of The Hunger Game: Catching Fire in London, the film will play out of competition at the Rome Film Festival before its official November 22 release. Prognosticators are already speculating the film will earn nearly on billion worldwide, following the massive, $691 million success of the first one last year.

Today, along with that news I have a heap of new pictures to share, a couple you may have seen before, but several that are new to my eyes as we return to the world of Panem where Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

Making up the additional members of the Quarter Quell competition are Jena Malone as Johanna, Alan Ritchson as Gloss, Sam Claflin as Finnick, Amanda Plummer as Wiress, Jeffrey Wright as Beetee, Stephanie Leigh Schlund as Cashmere, Meta Golding as Enobaria, Lynn Cohen as Mags and Bruno Gunn as Brutus.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is directed by Francis Lawrence who is already down in Atlanta preparing to film The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and Part 2 where E! Online reports the first scenes will be shot in an abandoned mill once used by Springs Industries in Spalding County.

With all that out of the way, over the next couple pages are more than 25 new pictures from Catching Fire. Enjoy.
