The first poster and now today, as part of its upcoming place in the New York Film Festival, two new clips from the movie have arrived giving you a look at some of the nastiness and behavior that takes place in the film.
THe story follows Woody (Bruce Dern), an aging alcoholic father who thinks he’s won a million dollar Publisher’s Clearing House sweepstakes prize, who ultimately recruits his son, David (Will Forte), to escort him from Billings, Montana to Lincoln, Nebraska. Along the way they stop off in Woody’s hometown of Hawthorne, Nebraska to visit family.
The first clip below features Woody and David before their trip really gets underway and the second is a look at how Woody is welcomed by his family.
The attitudes of these people are one of the main reasons I gave the film a “C+” in my review out of Cannes. While humorous out of context, it all begins to weigh on you. As I wrote, “The negativity, selfishness and hate hit me pretty hard. For one, because the characters feel so real and two, because Woody and David’s journey felt so predestined it was the only thing left to focus on.”
Nebraska hits limited theaters on November 15, you can watch the clips below and then the trailer right here.
