What I Watched, What You Watched #210

Obviously I spent the last week in Toronto at the Toronto Film Festival and the only film I saw that I have yet to review is Hayao Miyazaki’s The Wind Rises, which I will be getting to this week. Other than that, I did watch Gladiator last night after listening to a little bit of the score off and on while I was in Toronto and on the plane ride home to Seattle from Chicago, they had Star Trek Into Darkness playing. I, however, did not watch and can’t tell you how uninterested I was in even sneaking a peek.

Every now and then I would look up to see what was going on, and I remember looking up to watch the final sequence where Spock and Khan are battling it out, hand-to-hand on that moving thingamajig. Spock is beating the hell out of Khan and Uhura tells him to stop. He does, but not without one last uppercut, which apparently knocks him out? You know, because the other 15 blows didn’t do anything, it’s like Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out and one special punch will always take out King Hippo. Such a disappointment.

But really, that’s it for me. This weekend I’m really just focusing on football and relaxing before getting back into it on Monday morning. See you then, in the meantime, what did you watch this week?
