One of my more 12 Years a Slave, which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival to rave reviews and just yesterday Fox Searchlight brought online a new featurette taking a look at the film’s central character, Solomon Northup, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor.
In 1841, Northup was a free black man from upstate New York who was abducted, drugged and sold into slavery. The film traces the events of his life from this moment up to his meeting with a Canadian abolitionist (Brad Pitt), twelve years later.
Following its festival run, 12 Years a Slave will begin hitting theaters on October 18. Check out the featurette below.
