Prior to a film’s release the studio begins preparing for the marketing plan and many, somehow, start tracking the domain names that are being registered and title possibilities are found within that sleuthing. Now the title for Michael Bay‘s Transformers 4 is the hot target with Fusible and TFW2005 offering up the three following possibilities with:
- Transformers: Apocalypse
- Transformers: Last Stand
- Transformers: Age of Extinction
All three hint at end of the world or, at least, the end of a species scenarios. The last of which would seem to easily relate to the word the new film will involve dinosaur transforming robots (aka Dinobots), though I’m not sure how well a robot dinosaur serves as much of a disguise. I mean, dinosaurs don’t exist right? Especially giant metal ones?
Nevertheless, producer DB tells the Beijing News, “I can not disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the joining of the Dinobots will give the audience new excitement. In addition to Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, the appearance of these classic roles changed, today the world’s coolest, most exciting cars will appear in the film, including China’s vehicles, whether you are a car enthusiast, you will feast your eyes and be shocked by them.”
Sounds to me like a magazine or my gallery of the cars being used in the film might just be enough if that’s really all the film has to offer.
Transformers 4 hits theaters on June 27, 2014 and stars Mark Wahlberg, Brenton Thwaites, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles and T.J. Miller. I’ve included the synopsis below.
As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control – all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs. The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues.
