Hayao Miyazaki‘s The Wind Rises (Kaze Tachinu) will make its North American premiere at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival and with its appearance comes the first subtitled trailer for the new movie.
The story brings together aircraft engineer Jiro Horikoshi and author Tatsuo Hori, to create Jiro: a fictional character at the center of this tale of love, perseverance, and the challenges of living and making choices in a turbulent world.
At this point a domestic distributor has not yet picked up the rights to the film, but I have to suspect that if Disney doesn’t swoop in it will land in the hands of GKIDS. Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think.
