New Poster, Pictures and Clips from ‘The Butler’

The Weinstein Co. just went crazy with promotion for Lee Daniels’ The Butler and unleashed three clips, a new poster and 13 pictures from the upcoming film, all of which I have compiled in this one post over the course of two pages with all of the pictures on page two.

Written by Emmy-award winner Danny Strong (“Game Change”) and based on Wil Haygood‘s article, “A Butler Well Served by This Election“, The Butler tells the story of Eugene Allen (Forest Whitaker), the White House butler whose career started with Harry Truman in 1952 and ended in 1986 with Ronald Reagan. The film is based on a Washington Post report by Wil Haygood and is currently shooting in New Orleans.

Alongside Whitaker the film features an all-star cast that includes Oprah Winfrey as Gloria Gaines, David Oyelowo as Louis Gaines, Liam Neeson, Aml Ameen as Eugene at a young age, Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan, Jane Fonda as Nancy Reagan, James Marsden as John F. Kennedy, John Cusack as Richard Nixon, Minka Kelly as Jackie Kennedy, Cuba Gooding Jr. as Carter Wilson, Nelsan Ellis as Martin Luther King Jr., Liev Schreiber as Lyndon B. Johnson, Melissa Leo as Mamie Eisenhower, Robin Williams as Dwight Eisenhower and plenty more.

The Butler hits theaters on August 16, check out the three clips and poster directly below and the pictures on the second page.
