Lars von Trier‘s Nymphomaniac hits theaters on Christmas Day in Denmark while domestic distributor, Magnolia Pictures, has yet to set a U.S. release date, but the marketing continues on as today we have the above, not safe for work picture (via Vulture) of stars Stacy Martin and Shia LaBeouf from the film along with a new clip, which I’ve included at the bottom of this post.
The clip and image come from the second chapter of the film titled “Jerome”. Vulture gives us the following description:
“Love is just lust with jealousy added”
Though love is a shallow feeling in the eyes of the cynical nymphomaniac, young Joe is met by forces penetrating her armoured defences.
His name is Jerôme.
For a bit of added clarity, Martin plays the film’s lead character Joe at a young age. Joe is a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac and will be played in large part by Charlotte Gainsbourg in subsequent chapters in the film as it follows her journey after being found beaten up in an alley by Seligman (Stellan SkarsgÃ¥rd), an old, charming bachelor who cares for her and listens to her recount the story of her life as detailed in eight, filmed chapters.
Along with the names already mentioned, the cast also includes Jamie Bell, Connie Nielsen, Mia Goth, Jens Albinus, Severin von Hoensbroech, Peter Gilberg Cotton, Nicolas Bro, Tabea Tarbiat, Janine Romanowski, Jesper Christensen, Tania Carlin, Felicity Gilbert and Shanti Roney.
