On top of the news Christopher Nolan had added Ellen Burstyn, Timothée Chalamet (“Homeland”) Mackenzie Foy (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2) to his Interstellar cast this morning, now we learn John Lithgow has also signed on, again in an undefined role.
Lithgow was recently seen in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Campaign and This is 40 and will voice The White Rabbit in ABC’s “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” this upcoming season, but this certainly ranks up there with the biggest role he’s taken on as of late, that is assuming it’s of a substantial size.
Along with those already mentioned, Interstellar stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Bill Irwin and Michael Caine.
Interstellar is set for a November 7, 2014 release and involves time travel and alternate dimensions in a story that sees a group of explorers travel through a wormhole. The script is based on scientific theories developed by a Kip Thorne, a theoretical physicist, a gravitational physicist and astrophysicist at Caltech. Like Inception, the story is said to be “complex and multi-layered”. [The Wrap]
