What I Watched, What You Watched #197

This week’s visits to the theater included This is the End (read my review here) and Monsters University (review still to come) while at home I watched the first three episodes of the sixth season of “True Blood” (first episode premieres tonight), the latest episode of “Hannibal” (the season finale looks great) and then a couple titles from Netflix.

The first Netflix title I watched as Hal Ashby‘s The Last Detail, which I already wrote about and a few of you have commented, though hopefully some of you seek it out sooner rather than later and add your thoughts to the conversation.

And last night I watched Alejandro Jodorowsky‘s El Topo. It was the first film from Jodorowsky I had seen and I added it to my queue after all the talk around Cannes concerning his work, his latest film, The Dance of Reality, Frank Pavich‘s new documentary Jodorowsky’s Dune on Jodorosky’s failed attempt to bring “Dune” to the big screen and then Nicolas Winding Refn dedicated Only God Forgives to the filmmaker.

The film is a curiosity, that’s for sure, and I’m going to try and watch it again as I could either try and delve into all of its themes or tackle a new installment for my Paused features, which is the idea I’m leaning toward, though I may take a stab at both if there’s enough time.

But enough of my rambling, what did you watch this week?
