I seem to be getting mixed messages from people when they talk Iron Man 3. I was mezzo mezzo on it and I got the impression everyone loved it way more than me, but then it seems I’m reading a bunch of complaints. Is this just a response to its overwhelming box-office success or am I only focusing on the negative and not seeing the equally positive responses?
Either way, the film is a hit as it will cross the $1 billion mark worldwide over the course of the next few days and now one of its screenwriters, Drew Pearce (pictured left), has just accepted a new mission, Mission: Impossible 5.
THR reports Pearce will pen the screenplay which will once again feature Tom Cruise in the lead role as Ethan Hunt with Cruise’s Jack Reacher director, Christopher McQuarrie (pictured right), in negotiations to direct.
Expectation is for the film to shoot this fall once Cruise completes The Man From U.N.C.L.E. for Warner Bros. and director Guy Ritchie.
