No big surprise here, but Michael Caine has joined the cast of Christopher Nolan‘s upcoming film Interstellar. Caine has starred in all of Nolan’s films since 2005’s Batman Begins making this his sixth collaboration with the helmer following last year’s The Dark Knight Rises.
Caine’s casting comes on the heels of Jessica Chastain joining the cast yesterday as the two join Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway in the upcoming sci-fi film centered on a group of explorers travel through a wormhole.
The script was written by Nolan’s brother, Jonathan Nolan, and is based on scientific theories developed by a Kip Thorne, a theoretical physicist, a gravitational physicist and astrophysicist at Caltech. Like Nolan’s Inception, the story is said to be “complex and multi-layered”.
Warner Bros. has set a November 7, 2014 release date for Interstellar. [Deadline]
