NINJA TURTLES: Paramount has moved the Michael Bay-produced and Jonathan Liebesman-directed Ninja Turtles from May 16, 2014 to June 6. The new live-action film so far stars Megan Fox and with its new release date it avoid squaring off against the Godzilla reboot, but instead will now hit theaters a week before Jurassic Park IV.
HERCULES: Paramount and MGM Studios shuffled their Brett Ratner-directed Hercules adaptation starring Dwayne Johnson from from August 8, 2014 to July 25 where it will be opening in the wake of both The Hobbit: There and Back Again and X-Men: Days of Future Past.
ANNIE: Columbia Pictures recently confirmed Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) will star in Annie for director Will Gluck (Easy A) and that the of the remake of the Broadway musical will hit theaters on Christmas Day 2014 alongside Night at the Museum 3.
TURKEYS: Relativity isn’t wasting any time with their animated film Turkeys, which was originally set for a Novemeber 14, 2014 release, but has jumped up an entire year and will now hit theaters on November 1, 2013. Directed by Jimmy Hayward (Horton Hears a Who), the story centers on two turkeys discover a time machine in a secret government lab and decide to go back to the first Thanksgiving in order to get turkeys off the menu.
MORE: Fox has set a February 13, 2015 release for the Nicholas Sparks adaptation The Longest Ride, though no director or cast have yet been attached. CBS has set their Sundance acquisition once titled Toy’s House, now titled The Kings of Summer, for June 14, 2013. And while Dreamworks will dramatize the Wikileaks story with The Fifth Estate, Alex Gibney will give it the documentary treatment with We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks, which Focus Features will release on May 24, 2013. It too premiered at Sundance.
