‘Man of Steel’ Gets a PG-13 Rating in Latest Batch of MPAA Ratings

The biggest title of note in today’s batch of MPAA ratings is Zack Snyder‘s Superman film, Man of Steel, which like producer Christopher Nolan‘s Batman franchise is rated PG-13. No surprise there, but I’m sure some will be interested in the reason for the rating, which is “for intense sequences of sci-fi violence, action and destruction, and for some language.” Whatever that could mean, I’m not too sure, but there you have it.

Additionally we have a rating for Raman Bahrani’s At Any Price (watch the trailer here), the upcoming thriller Dark Skies, the Weinstein’s animated film Escape From Planet Earth and a late-in-the-game re-rate (well, actually just a new reason) for this Friday’s comedy release, Movie 43.

Finally comes a rating for a movie titled Unfinished Song, which is actually the new title for the Weinstein’s Song for Marion, which was once thought as a potential Oscar contender, but sort of fizzled and faded after premiering at the Toronto Film Festival last year.

Rated R For violence.

Amazing Adventures Of The Living Corpse

Rated R For some horror images and violence.

At Any Price

Rated R For sexual content including a strong graphic image, and for language.

A Common Man

Rated PG-13 For some violence and brief strong language.

Dark Skies

Rated PG-13 For violence, terror throughout, sexual material, drug content and language – all involving teens.

Release Date: February 22, 2013

The Dinosaur Project

Rated PG-13 For some violence, terror and a brief suggestive image.

Escape From Planet Earth

Rated PG For action and some mild rude humor.

Release Date: February 14, 2013

Infected

Rated R For bloody violence and gore, language and brief nudity.

Man of Steel

Rated PG-13 For intense sequences of sci-fi violence, action and destruction, and for some language.

Release Date: June 14, 2013

A Monster in Paris

Rated PG For some action violence involving gunplay, and mild rude humor.

Movie 43

Rated R For strong pervasive crude and sexual content including dialogue, graphic nudity, language and some violence.
