First Look at Brad Pitt in ‘World War Z’

The trials and tribulations on the production of Marc Forster‘s World War Z have been well-documented and I’m sure we will never get the entire word, but finally, after a six month release delay and seven weeks of reshoots and screenplay rewrites it appears Paramount is preparing to life the veil on what will either be a spectacular mess or … well… really, anything else.

The film is based on Max Brooks’ novel of the same name documenting the days after the zombie apocalypse and in the film the story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. Mireille Enos plays Gerry’s wife Karen Lane; Andre Kertesz is his comrade in arms, Segen.

Previously set to hit theaters on December 21, 2012 the film will now arrive on June 21, 2013 and I’m sure a lot of the haters out there won’t be too happy to hear Damon Lindelof (“Lost”, Prometheus) was brought in to focus on rewriting the film’s third act.

Featured below is a first look at the film via “Entertainment Tonight” with the trailer apparently set to arrive this Thursday and it will most likely be playing in front of Skyfall this weekend.
