Trio of ‘Anna Karenina’ Posters Suggest Passion, Desire and Honor

A trio of character posters promoting Joe Wright‘s upcoming adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina recently arrived featuring stars Keira Knightley, Jude Law and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

I am either flying over the United States or close to landing in Toronto as this article publishes, ready to see the film tomorrow at the Toronto Film Festival and for those of you that read my list of most anticipated films you know this is high on mine.

Taking place largely in a dilapidated theatre, the story unfolds in its original late-19th-century Russia high-society setting and explores the capacity for love that surges through the human heart, from the passion between adulterers to the bond between a mother and her children. As Anna (Knightley) questions her happiness, change comes to her family, friends, and community.

Directed by Joe Wright (Pride and Prejudice, Atonement) and written by Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare in Love), the film is already getting notable reviews out of Venice and I have high expectations it will do the same for me in Toronto.
