Did you know today is “Global Smurfs Day”? No one will blame you if you didn’t, but apparently Sony Animation is trying to set a world record for the largest gathering of people dressed as Smurfs within a 24 hour period in multiple venues. The strangest thing about this, to me, is to wonder how this can possibly be considered a record? Is this what we’ve stooped to now in the search for accomplishment?
On top of this news comes a poster for the new film to accompany the global initiative as well as news that not only will The Smurfs 2 hit theaters on July 31, 2013, but The Smurfs 3 has been green lit for a July 24, 2015 release. Oh man, get that on the calendar, don’t want to be embarrassed when you have conflicting plans.
