Entertainment Weekly had an excellent little article the other day where Taylor Lautner talked about his character Jacob (the werewolf) in Twilight and how he “imprinted” on Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward’s (Robert Pattinson) demon baby Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy) at the end of Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and how the relationship continues in the forthcoming The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.
For those that saw Breaking Dawn – Part 1 you’ll remember the long staring sequence once the baby bursts from Bella’s body and as you can see from the new picture above, Renesmee has grown rather quickly and the two are still getting acquainted. Commenting on the relationship Lautner told EW, “Everybody likes to tease me about it… Everyone thinks it’s so funny, and I laugh along with them, but it’s important for me to keep in my mind that it’s as simple as a lifelong bond. It’s not nearly as creepy as everybody likes to joke.”
So who is joking about it? Well, Robert Pattinson for one who comically tells EW, “Oh, I can’t wait till he has to do live TV… Did you ask him if his taste in women has changed? The first scene I saw them together, I literally could not stop laughing. I wouldn’t have been able to do it.”
I love that quote and it isn’t the first time Pattinson has spoken out about the ludicrous nature of the Twilight series. Back in November 2008 he gave the following quote to E! in an interview that has since been taken off line:
“When I read it I was convinced Stephenie was convinced she was Bella and it was like it was a book that wasn’t supposed to be published. It was like reading her sexual fantasy, especially when she said it was based on a dream and it was like, ‘Oh I’ve had this dream about this really sexy guy,’ and she just writes this book about it. Like some things about Edward are so specific, I was just convinced, like, ‘This woman is mad. She’s completely mad and she’s in love with her own fictional creation.’ And sometimes you would feel uncomfortable reading this thing.”
So while Pattinson can’t wait to see Lautner do live TV, I can’t wait to see this all play out on screen. It should be quite entertaining.
All that said, I have received eight new images from the film, which I have added directly below, just click on the first thumbnail to browse through the lot. I have also included the recently released trailer below that for anyone that missed it earlier in the week.
The new pics contain looks at not only Stewart, Pattinson, Lautner and Foy, but also Dakota Fanning, Cameron Bright, Kellan Lutz (arm wrestling Bella of all things), Tracey Heggins, Judith Shekoni, Christian Carmago, Mia Maestro, Casey LaBow and MyAnna Buring.
